Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions for Integration Services ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the integration services REST API, Webhooks, and MQTT ("Services") provided by Airthings ("the Company"). These Services are designed to mainly provide customers with data from air quality sensors processed in the Company's cloud. These Terms are in addition to the Company’s standard terms of use that may be found at https://www.airthings.com/en/terms-of-use (“Standard Terms”) and the term “Services” in the Standard Terms shall be construed to include REST API, Webhooks, and MQTT. In this document the Terms and Standard Terms shall be collectively referred to as the “Terms”.
2. Services Provided
The Company offers the following Services to Airthings for Business accounts with an active, paid-for subscription:
REST API: Allows Clients to retrieve data on-demand.
Webhooks: Provides event-based data pushed to Clients.
MQTT: Enables event-based data to be published to subscribers.
3. Usage Rights
Subject to these Terms, the Company grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable (without the right to sublicense or distribute), revocable, limited right to access and use the Services solely for your internal business purposes.
4. Data
The data made available by the Services mainly consists of sensor samples from your devices (“Data”), and the Company aims to make such Data available through the Services. Additional data like metadata and virtual sensor data may be provided for selected services, however, the Company has no obligation to provide such additional data. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company owns and shall retain all right, title, and interest in and to the technical air quality measurements and data collected or generated by the devices and Services.
5. Service Availability
The Company does not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements or be available on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis and for the avoidance of doubt the Company is not liable for downtime.
6. Support
The Company will provide reasonable technical support for the Services between 09:00 - 22:00 (CET) Mon - Fri.
7. Efficient Use of Services
You shall use the Services efficiently to minimize the impact on the Company's infrastructure and other customers. The REST API has a rate limit of 5 000 requests per hour per Client, and 2 000 requests per 5 minutes per IP. Excessive usage will negatively impact service performance and will result in the client/IP being suspended and/or permanently blocked, in the Company’s sole discretion, from making additional requests.
8. Updates and Maintenance
The company releases changes continuously for each integration service.
Clients will be notified in advance of any updates that may introduce service instability or breaking changes.
Deployments might or might not include changes that directly impact you. Changes that may have a direct impact on you are documented in a changelog for each integration service.
The services are under continuous development and might require you to update your services to continue general use and access to all features. These changes will be clearly communicated, and the Company aims to have grace periods to ensure customers have time to update their service.
9. Disclaimer
The Warranty disclaimer, indemnification and limitation of liability clauses in the Standard Terms apply to the Services.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services.
11. Service Descriptions and Use Cases
11.1. REST API
The REST API is intended for requesting sensor data (most recent samples and/or historical data from physical and/or virtual sensors) and/or device related information. It can also be used for managing devices and/or Webhooks, and all of the available endpoints are documented in the continuously updated API documentation. The API has a rate limit of 5 000 requests per hour per Client, and 2 000 requests per 5 minutes per IP. You shall only use the API efficiently to minimize an unnecessary load on the service.
11.2. Webhooks
Webhooks aim to allow you to subscribe to events related to metadata and samples from physical or virtual sensors. While useful for data presentation and storage, we recommend using the REST API in conjunction to ensure available data is collected. Webhooks can also trigger client-side alerts or events; however, the Company is not responsible for your use of this data.
11.3. MQTT
MQTT aims to provide immediate and raw data from physical sensors. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, precision, or availability of MQTT data and is not responsible for its use in such applications. You agree that you use the data received from the MQTT service at your own risk.
12. Limitations and Responsibilities
The Company shall not be responsible for the application or use of the Services or Data by you. You shall ensure that your use of the Data and Services complies with applicable laws and regulations and shall indemnify and hold harmless the Company against any claims, liabilities or damages.
13. Changes to Terms
The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. You are advised to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Continued use of the Services after changes indicates acceptance of the new Terms.
